Animal attack injury claim

If you have been injured by an animal it is possible that the owner or keeper of the animal may be held legally responsible for injuries in which case you may have valid claim for damages or compensation.

Injuries may be caused by dometic pets, horses, cattle etc but of course the most likely source of animal attack would be a dog bite.

Compensation following a dog attack is not automatic and in fact frequently not possible. Generally speaking the owner will not be held liable unless the dog has previously displayed aggression or a tendency to attack. If it has the case for compensation will be much stronger.

In certain cases the above general rule is modified by the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. This increases the liability of the owner/keeper if a dog is dangerously out of control in a public place and this would strengthen the case for compensation.

The act also stipulates stict rules for control and regulation of certain breeds of dog which are regarded as dangerous. Injury resulting from attack by one of these breeds may mean that a claim for compensation could be successful even where the dog had not shown previous tendencies to aggressive behaviour.

If you have suffered injury as a result of an animal attack the last three years and would like a Free Legal Assessment of your claim please complete the Aplication Form. We will handle your claim on a No Win No Fee basis at no cost to you.

Pedestrian Fall from Bicycle
Miss H was knocked off her bicycle when her front tyre struck a loose paving stone jutting into the road. She sustained a head injury causing severe short term memory loss and mood swings. After 2 years her original Solicitors withdrew from the case as they believed her claim had less than a 50% chance of succeeding. Miss H contacted Excalibur who agreed to represent her on a No win No fee basis.

Within 18 months the matter was resolved and Miss H received a settlement cheque of £300,000.00. She told us
"Thank you Excalibur for believing in me and my claim. My Solicitor was always available to me and happy to explain each step of the process. The only surprise was how much you managed to obtain for me without the need to go to trial. I will tell all my friends about your great service."
