Building Site Safety Training

Construction sites are accident-prone areas. Building sites or construction sites are very dangerous with potential hazards from power tools, electrical bill, falling material, collapsing foundations, faulty hoists and lifts, movement of people inside the construction site and people who work in close proximity.

It is the responsibility of the employer to provide building site safety training and to ensure that the construction and building site accidents are prevented, and provide a safe working condition for visitors, contractors and employees. The employer should see to it that the hoists and scaffolding are assessed systematically and thoroughly and must be kept in safe condition. Employers should employ building site safety training and safe device working processes and techniques and should communicate the same to the workers of the site. The techniques employed should be updated, according to the progression of the work.

The employers should give their employees all the necessary tools and machines, so that they can complete their jobs. They should also make sure that the tools and the machines are kept in a safe condition. The workplace should be in a tidy and safe condition. All the employees should have proper chairs and workstation, the corridors, and the floor must be unsoiled and hazard free. Gates and doors should be frictionless. In the construction industry every employee needs to pick up heavy objects, so, the employers should make provision to give the employees training on how to lift them safely. Risk tests should be done before the commencement of the work.

The employees should be equipped with all the safety wear such as hard hats, dust masks, safety boots high-visibility jackets, goggles and ear guards. If the employer fails to avail these safety measures and if any worker is injured during work then the worker is liable to make a construction and building compensation claim.

If you become a victim of any construction and building accident such as tripping or slipping on something, getting injured by any insecure machinery or fall from heights and if all the aforementioned accident occurs without your fault, then you have the legal right to claim for compensation from the guilty party.

Construction site accidents can be very dangerous, as the accident can make a person permanently disabled and can even lead to death. Therefore, the compensation claims includes loss of wages, suffering and pain, all the medical expenses and other losses that has resulted from the accident.

In such accidental claims, it is always better to take advice from an experienced lawyer to get the maximum amount from the compensation claim. Make sure that you make the claim within three months of the accident and you should not be at fault. While hiring a lawyer ensure that he works on “No Win No Fee” basis, so that you do not need to pay any money.
