Demolition accident claim

Demolition work is one of the most dangerous operations in industry with the obvious potential for catastrophic accidents and injuries to workers and the public. It results in many compensation claims every year for both personal injury and property damage.

Demolition workers are at the risk of serious injuries and fatalities caused possibly by falls from height, falling masonry etc, trips, mechanical equipment. There may also be risks to health in operations which create large amounts of dust.

Because of the risks, there is a heavy duty on employers to prevent injury to their employees and others by, amongst other things, operating safe systems of work, using safe and properly maintained equipment, provision of adequate personal protective equipment (hard hats, gloves, boots, masks etc.).

The duty of care exists not only at Common Law but under various statutes such as :-

  • Health & Safety At Work Act 1974
  • Management of Health At Work Regulations 1992
  • Construction (Health Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1996
  • Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 1994

If an accident results from an Employer's breach of duty of care he may be legally liable to pay compensation damages to any injured person or for a fatality, to the dependants. In the case of serious injuries, often the case in demolition accidents, the damages may be substantial.

If you have been injured in a demolition accident in the last three years you may be entitled to compensation. To obtain a free legal assessment of your case please complete the Application Form. We will handle your claim on a No Win No Fee basis at no cost to you.
