An injury to the elbow can occur in many types of accident eg. falls or slips, road accidents, work accidents, sports injuries. The severity of the injury can vary from simply bruising to fracture or dislocation.

Depending on the occupation of the victim, serious injury to the elbow is almost certain to involve prolonged inability to work with consequent loss of earnings.
