Head injury claim

If you have suffered a head injury as an innocent victim in the last three years you may be legally entitled to compensation for pain and suffering and other losses resulting from the accident.

Provided that the accident was caused by the negligence of another party you should have valid claim. Examples of circumstances where a head injury may be caused are :-

  1. Road Traffic Accidents - whether as driver, passenger, cyclist, motorcyclist or pedestrian.
  2. Slips, Trips, Falls - on roads, footpaths etc, on Third Party premises such as shops or restaurants.
  3. At Work - slips trips or falls, falling objects, machinery accidents, construction site accidents.
  4. Sporting Accidents - whilst some injuries are accepted as inevitable in sport there are situations where a legimate claim for injury damages would exist eg. reckless or malicious conduct by an opponent, defects in playing surfaces.

Injuries caused by a blow to the head can be relatively minor such as cuts, lacerations or broken teeth. More serious would be broken jaw, nose or other bones or most serious of course, injury to the brain.

Brain injury may be "Closed Head" or "Open Head". The former is caused when the brain is damaged by impact with the inside of the skull with no outward appearance of damage. The latter occurs when the skull is penetrated.

Minor head injuries seldom produce long term effects but for a while after the injury the victim may suffer symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, double vision, tiredness etc.

More serious damage may result in these symptoms being permanent together with other effects such as epilepsy. Severe brain damage can of course have a catastrophic effect on the life of the victim and compensation awards in these circumstances are likely to be very high.

If you have suffered a head injury and would like to know whether you may be entitled to compensation please complete the Application Form and we will provide a Free Legal Assessment of your claim. We will handle your claim on a No Win No Fee basis at no cost to you.
