MRSA Infections

MRSA is amongst the most hazardous infections today. The term MRSA means Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus. MRSA is an infection that is basically caused by Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria or Staph. MRSA infections are sometimes incurable. The infections is mostly affected to people who stay in hospital for longer periods,   had any surgery or those who have weaker immune system.

It is important to know that the majority MRSA infection is skin infections and there signs and symptoms are as follows:

• Boils or pus-filled hair follicles infections.
• Sty, an eyelid gland infection.
• Impetigo that is a skin infection.
• Abscesses i.e. collection of pus inside the skin.
• Carbuncles those are much larger than an abscess.

Some other big problem related with MRSA infection is that many a times the skin virus or infection spreads to other parts of the body. At such circumstances even more harsh symptoms develop like chills, low blood pressure, fever, pain in joints, headaches, breathing problem, and rashes all over the body. MRSA infection when spread to internal body organs can be serious and life-threatening so in this case you must immediately contact your physician especially when it is related to skin infections.

How MRSA is transmitted:

MRSA infection is basically transmitted in two ways that is either having physical contact or relation with a person who already is infected by MRSA or by touching things like doors, handles, sinks, towels or floors that have been touched by an MRSA-infected person.

Treatment and prevention for MRSA infection:

A famous saying goes like this - prevention is better than cure. And this can also be applied in MRSA infection case. The best way to prevent from MRSA infection is by avoiding direct contact with the skin, clothes or other items used by MRSA patients and MRSA carriers. To treat MRSA, go to any medical store and ask for antiseptic solutions along with wipes to clean your hands or even surfaces that were in contact MRSA infection. A pregnant woman should consult her doctor to confirm whether she is having MRSA infection or not because many a times due to medical or clinical accidents the infection gets transfers in the body of pregnant women. Doctors usually treat MRSA with two antibiotics namely Teicoplanin and Vancomycin.
