Being one of the most important protective pieces of motorbike kit, a Crash Helmet is protective headgear that is used by riders to protect their head in the event of an impact following an accident. When someone falls or is involved in a collision, a crash helmet can protect the head from serious injuries.
The main objective of a crash helmet is to provide motorcycle safety to the rider by protecting his head during an accident, thereby preventing head injury. However a helmet will not be able to protect the head from serious injury in all cases.
The use of crash helmets is mandatory in England. If you ride a motorcycle you are required by law to wear a safety helmet.
The safety helmet must meet certain approved standards.
There are two main protective components of a crash helmet;
A hard thin outer layer made typically from fibreglass, Kevlar, or polycarbonate plastic
A thick soft inner liner normally made of extended polypropylene foam or polystyrene foam.
The purpose of these is to provide protection to the riders head.
If you have suffered a motorcycle accident due to the fault of another you are entitled to make a claim for compensation. It is necessary that you pursue a claim within three years of the accident otherwise the claim will be time barred. The compensation you receive will cover pain and suffering for your injuries as well as medical and other expenses incurred.
Excalibur Solicitors work on a no win no fee basis to win you the compensation you deserve. If the case is lost you will not have any fees to pay. On winning the case we will not deduct any fees from your award as we recover our charges from the third party.
