Premises injury claims

Personal Injury resulting from defects in premises are common and where the owner of the premises has failed to keep them safe or in a saisfactory state of repair a claim for compensation for the injuries sustained is likely to be possible.

Accidents may arise in many situations including the workplace, shops, restaurants, schools, hospitals, sports grounds or outdoor public areas such as roads or footpaths etc. Injuries may be caused by :-

  1. Pitted, damaged or uneven floors, loose floorboards
  2. Wet or slippery floors
  3. Worn or poorly fitted carpets or flooring
  4. Defective handrails, worn or damaged stairs or steps, inadequate lighting
  5. Poor or obstructed access
  6. Protruding objects
  7. Defective electrical installations
  8. Unsafe walkways

Those who own, occupy or control premises have a duty or care at Common Law and obligations under statutes such as The Occupiers Liability Act 1957 and Defective Premises Act 1972. Employers have a duty of care towards their employees which includes the provision of safe premises and equipment. Breach of the duty of care or any relevant statute which causes injury to an employee or member of the public may result in a successful claim for compensation from the victim.

If you have suffered a defective premises injury in the last three years and would like a free legal assessment of your case, please complete the Application Form. We will handle your claim on a No Win No Fee basis at no cost to you.

Testimonials
Pedestrian run over by car
Mrs K was knocked over by a car that mounted the pavement, fracturing her tibia. Following extensive medical investigations organised by Excalibur, it transpired that the accident brought forward the need for a knee replacement operation in the next 5-10 years. Excalibur settled Mrs K’s claim for £28,750.00 she said:
"I am very pleased with the service I have received and would recommend Excaliburs to my friends. My claim was handled in a very professional manner and I was kept informed of it’s progress. Everyone I met or spoke to was helpful and considerate and I felt confident in their abilities. This was important to me at the time of my accident and later."
