Tenosynovitis claims

Tenosynovitis is one of a number of Repetitive Strain Injurues which, if it results from an occupational cause, may entitle the sufferer to bring an action for compensation against the employer.

Tendons are cords which connect muscles to bones in order to enable joints to be moved. If these tendons and the linings which protect and lubricate them become swollen and/or inflamed this will result in tenderness, pain and stiffness in the affected joint. The problem may occur in any tendon area and is common in the wrist and hand.

In the early stages the symptoms may subside after activity ceases but over a period, if the problem activity continues, the condition will worsen and persist after the activity. The symptoms may last for days, weeks or even months depending on the severity and on treatment and remedial action.

Constant repetition of the same movement with the same joint can bring on the condition and for this reason employers are required to take steps to prevent this, such as rotation of activities. However, if it can be proved that the condition is work induced a right to compensation may exist.

If you are suffering from tenosynovitis which is work related and would like to know whether you may be entitled to compensation please complete the Application Form and we will provide a Free Legal Assessment of your claim. We will handle your claim on a No Win No Fee basis at no cost to you.
