A doctor may prescribe anti-inflammatory medication in order to treat whiplash and applying heat pads and ice packs can also help in improving its condition. In the most extreme case, a person may undergo surgery, but this happens only when the disk inside the vertebrae becomes misplaced, torn or ruptured. Sometimes, people can face disruption in their usual routine activity when they meet with a whiplash injury. Depending of the severity of the injury the victim may recover after a few days and safely return to their normal activities.
