Whiplash Pain

Most commonly, whiplash injuries take place when a rear end vehicle collision causes rapid movements of the neck and head, resulting in trauma to the ligaments and neck muscles. Whiplash pain can be constant and may be difficult to get rid of if no medical treatment is sought.

If you are suffering from pain due to whiplash, you might try out the following procedures (although this list is not intended to substitute for proper medical advice from a qualified medical practitioner) :

·                                 Some client s have said that taking an analgesic can be quite effective because whiplash is often caused due to inflammation of ligaments and muscles supporting the neck. Over-the-counter pain relievers can offer quite instant relief.

·                                 Some clients have received some relief by applying ice or cold compresses to the shoulder and neck which can be extremely soothing but do not apply ice directly on the skin, instead wrap it up in an ice bag.

·                                 Maintain proper posture and make sure that you do not slump into a recliner. Avoid body movements that will aggravate your already inflamed neck ligaments and muscles.

·                                 Take proper rest so that your injured muscles, tendons and ligaments are protected from further injuries and pain.

·                                 You can visit your doctor who might wish to give you a steroid injection. These injections are often administered via fluoroscopy which is a kind of X-ray.

·                                 Contact a physiotherapist for neck muscle strengthening exercises.

People suffering from whiplash injury encounter symptoms such as neck pain, muscle spasms, neck swelling, tenderness to the neck, back and headaches. Some of these symptoms can continue even after medical treatment. Sometimes, further repercussions and health related problems may be associated with persisting whiplash pain. In case you sustain a whiplash injury, it is best to contact a medical practitioner instantly because on some occasions, pain surfaces a few days after the accident. Excalibur Solicitors can help with your compensation claim for your whiplash pain and financial losses.

Testimonials
Trip on highway
Mrs J tripped on a pothole whilst crossing a service road running parallel to a main road, fracturing her shoulder, wrist and ankle. The Council initially denied full liability for her accident alleging Mrs J was partly to blame for not avoiding the pothole. Excalibur arranged a Conference with a barrister and on his advice rejected this. After intense negotiations Mrs J was awarded £17,000.00 she said:
"I had help from the start regarding my claim and found the advice very reassuring. I have never had to make a claim before so was apprehensive but you did a lot to alleviate my worries. Thanks again for all your help and support."
