Work Place Safety

People may not be aware of the fact that there is legislation made by the government regarding safety at work for the workers. This safety at work act demands for the proper management systems to implement complete health and safety at workplace. Though law introduced by the government makes it mandatory for the employers to work on these guidelines but it is as well essential for the workers to be familiar about their duties and rights regarding their own safety and proper health.

Creating awareness about work place safety, the business employers must have appropriate employee induction and should introduce safety and health training programs especially when any new employee joins the company. The employees should get education about the procedures, standards, policies and safety at workplace through this induction program. Every company whether small or big must possess proper First-Aid-kits in case people fall ill or suffer any kind of injuries at work so that the worker get immediate medical treatment.

Another prime importance work place safety needs safety from fire. The probable hazards caused due to ignition by fuel and other sources of oxygen need to be identified. In this regard, proper system for fire detection including other warning systems is required to place in the companies to avoid any mishaps. Every company must have an exit door or escape route in its building for emergency situations.

Workers often receive injuries at work while performing several kind of work which may prove fatal to them. They may become injured due to mechanical impairment, carelessness or while lifting heavy objects, their muscles get pulled. Workers in a company meet with different accidents being in a company apart from direct injury they generally get, which occur due to several reasons. They have to suffer from occupational disease which badly affect the health of workers and may take their lives too. Sever occupational disease like Radiation Sickness, Byssinosis, Silicosis, Lung Disease and Carpel Tunnel Syndrome are the ill effects that affect many employees and result in their deaths each year.

Employers should equally concern for the health and safety of their employees by establishing a ready-made planning practice followed with the laws and rule made by the government to guarantee safety at workplace. It is believed that few safety programs such as safety training, advanced contractor safety manual and with capable Illness and Injury Protection Plans (IIPP) effectively help to prevent accidents at jobsite in future.
