Wrist injuries

Wrist injuries are quite common and can occur in many types of accident. They may be caused by direct impact to the wrist in, say, a road accident and a particularly frequent cause is injury sustained when trying to break a fall. Accidents at work and sporting activities are also a source of wrist injuries.

Injuries vary in severity from simple sprains or strains through to more serious accidents involving damage to nerves or tendons and of course fractures. With more serious injuries there is the possibility of lasting or permanent damage which can restrict the ability to carry out normal everyday actions and may have an effect on employment possibilities.

The wrist is also particularly susceptible to gradual injury caused by repetitive movement of the joint over a period of time. This can result in damage to the muscles, nerves and tendons causing conditions such as tenosynovitis, tendinitis and carpal tunnel syndrome. This type of condition is frequently the result of repetitive use of the wrist during the course of employment and can be the source of a compensation claim against an employer.

Wrist injuries are often caused by the negligence of another party such as an employer, motorist or in the case of falls, slips or trips the owner of the premises where the accident occurred. If this is the case it may be possible to bring a claim for compensation for such items as pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of income or permanent disability.

If you have suffered a wrist injury in the last three years you may be entitled to compensation. If you would like a Free Legal Assessment of your claim please complete the Application Form. We will handle your claim on a No Win No Fee basis at no cost to you.
